These three questions are frequently asked during an open house.

When I attend an open house, I always have some questions. Today I’ll share some common inquiries homebuyers ask during open houses.

  1. Does the square footage in the garage reflect what is on the assessor's sheet? The short answer is no. The garage, attic, and basement do not count toward the square footage.

  1. Are the appliances included in the sale of the home? This is a negotiable item, and typically, the washer, dryer, and refrigerator are left in the home. However, it's important to note that the stove may or may not be included, depending on whether it's attached or can be moved.

  1. Why is the seller moving? This question can be difficult to answer, as sellers may not always want to disclose the reason they are moving. Instead of asking why the sellers are moving, it's better to ask if there are any disclosures the homebuyer should know about the home. This way, you can get a better understanding of any potential issues with the property.

In conclusion, it's important to know what questions to ask to get the information you need during open houses. If you need more help on what to ask during open houses, call or email us. We’re always happy to help.
